Audio system in swiftlet bird house

It is very popular in Southeast Asia that people build the house for swiftlet to collect their nest. This fetch a very good price in China and HongKong as it is believed that the nest made from swiftlet's saliva is very nutritious.

In order to attract swiftlet come into the house and stay, then build the nest for their next generation, people use an audio system with many speakers to play the bird sound. This sound will attract the swiftlet to stay as these bird live in colony and they love to listen to the sound that represent a big colony.

People will record the sound of swiftlets and playback through the speakers via an amplifier. The key issue here is we cannot simply connect up so many speakers in parallel as this may load the amplifier with unnecessary power in order to playback the sound. The impedance of the speakers group need to be calculated in order to match the amplifier for maximum output and less power consumption. The advantages of doing so is to avoid over heating of the amplifier that could cause the amplifier to burn down.

Wrong selection of speakers to match with amplifier also could result in the sound is not the same as the original sound. This not only unable to attract the birds, some may even chase the bird away.

Some bird house is build in the remote area far from grid supply. In this case solar panel can be used to power the audio system.

Knowledge of matching the speakers is very crutial for getting a good return from swiftlet house.
